July 19-21, 2024 Begins at 12:01 a.m. on the third Friday in June and ends at midnight the following Sunday. Eligible items include clothing priced at $100 or less per article, a single purchase of $750 or less of a computer or computer software, school supplies priced at $50 or less, and books priced at $30 or less per book.

Severe Weather Preparedness

February 23-25, 2024 Begins Friday at 12:01 a.m. on the last full weekend at midnight and ends the following Sunday at midnight. Eligible items are to cost $60 or less per item to be covered by the Tax Holiday. Some items covered include Cellular phone batteries, tarpaulin, plastic sheeting, plywood, window film, and non-electric can openers.

Skagway Municipality Retail Sales

October 1, 2023-March 31, 2024 Begins October 1, 2023, and extends through March 31, 2024. There is no state tax; however, local governments will sometimes offer tax-free local sales tax.

Begins Saturday, June 1, 2024, and ends Friday, June 14, 2024. Qualifying items include but are not limited to wet cat or dog food, batteries, cat litter, reusable ice, fire extinguishers, and portable generators.

Begins Saturday, August 24, 2024, and ends Friday, September 6, 2024. Qualifying items include but are not limited to wet cat or dog food, batteries, cat litter, reusable ice, fire extinguishers, and portable generators.

Energy Star Appliance

July 1, 2023-June 30, 2024 Begins Saturday, July 1, 2023, and ends Sunday, June 30, 2024. Qualifying EnergyStar appliances are exempt from sales tax, which does not apply to the rental or repair of any qualifying items or to sales in a theme park, entertainment complex, public lodging establishment, or airport.

Freedom Month

July 1- 31, 2024 Begins Monday, July 1, 2024, and ends on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. Consumers can purchase qualifying recreation and outdoor items, entertainment, and cultural events exempt from tax. Some qualifying item categories include fishing, camping, pool, and general outdoor supplies.

Gas Ranges and Cooktops

July 1, 2023-June 30, 2024 Begins Saturday, July 1, 2023, and extends through Sunday June 30, 2024. Qualifying gas ranges and cooktops are exempt. The sales tax holiday does not apply to the rental or repair of any of the qualifying items.

Home Hardening Sales Tax Exemption

July 1, 2022-June 30, 2024 Begins Friday, July 1, 2022, and extends through June 30, 2024. Qualifying items include impact-resistant doors, windows, and garage doors.

Tool Time

September 1-7, 2024 Begins Sunday, September 1, 2024, and ends Saturday, September 7, 2024. Qualifying tools and equipment such as hand tools, work gloves, flashlights, rakes, work boots, and ladders are exempt from tax.

Small Business Saturday Gross Receipts Tax Holiday

November 30, 2024 Beginning at 12:01 a.m. on the first Saturday after Thanksgiving and ending at midnight on the same Saturday. New Mexico provides a gross receipts tax break on items from certain small businesses. These include tools, cosmetics, instruments, bedding, furniture, and video games.

Treasury will issue a letter specifying a period of two days in July and January. If no letter is issued, it is understood that the period will begin at 12:01 a.m. on July 12 and end at 12:00 a.m. on July 13 and 12:01 a.m. on January 10 and 12:00 a.m. on January 11 of each year.     Eligible items include school uniforms and school materials.

Emergency Preparation Supplies

April 27-29, 2024 Begins at 12:01 a.m. on the Saturday before the last Monday in April and ends at midnight on the last Monday in April. Some emergency preparation supplies include can openers, portable generators, hurricane shudders, coolers, fuel containers, hatchets, and axes. The site has a complete list of items.

Sales Tax Holiday (Back to School)

August 9-11, 2024 Begins at 12:01 a.m. on the Friday before the fifteenth day preceding the fourth Monday in August and ends at midnight on the following Sunday. Categories that include qualifying items are school supplies, facemasks, backpacks, clothing, footwear, and other items. A list of specific items can be found on the website.

Texas EnergyStar

May 25-27, 2024 Begins Saturday, May 25, and goes through midnight on Monday, May 27 (Memorial Day). Qualifying items include ENERGY STAR products with no limit on how many you can buy. Only certain products can be leased, rented, or bought tax-free. Some items include air conditioners, ceiling fans, clothes washers, dishwashers, and humidifiers.

Water Efficient Products

May 25-27, 2024 Begins Saturday, May 25, and goes through Monday, May 27 (Memorial Day). Certain water-conserving products are tax-free, including but not limited to a soaker or drip-irrigation base, a rain barrel, water-saving furnaces, soil and compost, and recharging water tables.

Virginia 3 Day Sales Tax Holiday August 2-4, 2024 Begins the first Friday in August at 12:01 am and ends the following Sunday at 11:59 pm.   During this tax holiday, there are three distinct categories of tax-free items. These include school supplies, clothing, and footwear, hurricane and emergency preparedness products, and Energy Star and WaterSense products, all with price limits per subcategory.

During the holiday, certain clothing of $125 or less, laptops and tablets of $4500 or less, school supplies of $50 or less, sports equipment of $150 or less, and school instruction material of $20 or less qualify. The total purchase amount is not limited.
